Requirements from the undergraduate teachers of different colleges in India
regarding the ecological investigation techniques have been widely felt
throughout India. The aim of this book is to provide the simple and relevant
methods to study ecology as well as environmental biology in Indian conditions.
This book deals with the physicochemical and biological methods of
studying environmental factors, plant and soil analysis, and community analysis.
Besides ecological aspects, the environmental pollution has also been given due
importance.
Our interest for writing this book originated by facing difficulties in
suggesting manuals to the students for environmental biology practicals.
Techniques are there, but scattered and not easily available to the
undergraduate students. Therefore, the authors have taken personal interest and
pains to confirm the techniques of all the practicals which have been included
in this manual. Above all, the inspiration from our Guru, Dr. K.C. Misra is the
backbone for achieving our goal.
